Back to Dart Specs The M Code 69 Darts Dodge offered a 440 engine conversion (A13) for the '69 Dart. Hurst Corp. fabricated the special motor mounts. Dodge upgraded the brakes and suspension to handle the 375 horsepower put out by the 440 cid 4 bbl V-8. Equipped with a TorqueFlite automatic only, with either a 3.55 or 3.91 Sure Grip rear end. Heavy Duty shocks and E70 Red Streak tires, gave no indication of the power plant under the hood. Optional Engine: ("A13" Conversion) Overhead Valve V-8 cast iron block, 440 cid, Bore 4.325" Stroke 3.750", Compression ratio 10:1 to 1. Brake Horsepower 350 @ 5000 rpm. Torque 480 @ 3200 rpm. Five main bearings, Hydraulic cam, with Carter 4bbl and dual exhaust. 640 (appox.) 440 GTS '69 Darts were produced. Engine Files
